Why is Wood Burning Ovens Crawley Better for Cooking Pizza?

“These ovens really get people’s imaginations going. They are brilliant tools for inspiring good times around the table. To my mind, wood fired ovens are the ultimate foodie must-have” – Jamie Oliver

A wood-fired pizza oven from wood burning ovens Crawley heats up and cooks our meals a lot better because of the heat stored in the dense walls.

Obviously this heat radiates across the dome very evenly while the floor of the oven is slightly cooler than the top under which we place our meals. When the oven gets really white hot inside, for certain type of pizza the baking temperature can be far above 300°C - 572°F or 350°C - 662°F and maintained by keeping a continuous small fire going. It's in this environment that a good pizza is made.

Quick baking creates a thin crust and nice toppings, with a delicious soft middle! High temperature produces flavours which can't be achieved by slow cooking. High heat also adds an interesting look to our pizza, with a crisp crust and really great cheese on top.

It’s said to give pizza an “authentic” taste.

Dominos Making it Huge in The UK

Britain's Domino's habit started in 1985 with a single branch in Luton, Bedfordshire. A decade later there were 100 stores and in 1999 the company became the first home-delivery business to drift on the London stock exchange's goal market.

Sales soared as the company tapped into countless demand for convenience and the popularity of simply staying in and watching telly. Sponsoring Saturday night TV shows such as Britain's Got Talent and Splash! It only increased the temptation for customers.

Such is the chain's ubiquity in the UK, it is easy to forget that Domino's is American. In 1960 Tom and James Monaghan opened their DomiNick's pizza delivery store in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

A year later, Tom exchanged his Volkswagen Beetle for his brother's share of the business and set himself the goal of increasing to three stores. The rest is fast-food history.

Individual store owners pay the UK company at least £280,000 for a licence upfront, plus a share of sales, and buy their ingredients from the company, prepared at three giant "commissaries" at Milton Keynes, Penrith in Cumbria and Naas in Ireland.

Domino's has 26% of the UK pizza market, just ahead of the lengthier established Pizza Hut at 25% but with much greater dominance of the growing delivery market.

Wood Burning Stoves Crawley: What's it All About?

A wood-burning stove Crawley is a heating appliance accomplished of burning wood fuel and wood-derived biomass fuel, such as wood pellets. Usually the appliance consists of a solid metal (usually cast iron or steel) closed fire chamber, a fire brick base and an adjustable air control.

Choosing a Wood Burning Stoves Crawley

One of the first thoughts is the type of fuel you want to burn. Wood-burners use just wood, while a multi-fuel stove can burn wood, smokeless fuel and coal. The change lies in the grate. Wood will burn on a bed of ash but coals need air entering from beneath, so a multi-fuel stove has a grate that adjusts to suit the fuel. Some stoves burn eco-friendly wood pellets. Also consider boiler stoves that can heat water too.

Which size and where?

All wood-burning stoves need a chimney to produce emissions from the room. They usually sit within or in front of a fireplace opening, but free-standing stoves are ahead popularity, especially for open-plan areas. To burn solid fuel you need a fireproof hearth, usually made of concrete, to comply with building regulations, but you can cover this with stone, slate, terracotta tiles or glass.

Cleaner burning

Clean burn technology recovers stove efficiency and ensures that the glass stays clean. Pre-heated air introduced into the firebox burns off gases that would then escape up the chimney, reducing particulate emissions. Airwash uses air vents at the top of the stove window to blow air over the inside of the window, reducing tarring.

Costs and installation

Crawley Wood Burning StovesStove from wood burning stoves crawley prices vary considerably, starting at around £500, but installation adds to the cost significantly. The fitting must either be carried out by a heating engineer registered as a Competent Person by HETAS, or approved by the local council's building control office. A chimney with a good draw is essential and getting this right can cost as much, if not more, than the stove. This can be achieved with a flexible steel liner backfilled with insulation (ideal if the chimney bends) or with a more substantial liner, such as a pumice block, which will last a lifetime.

Decisions Decisions – Take The Family Out or a Nice Night In

Arrangements for Bonfire Night celebrations include making a imitation of Guy Fawkes, which is called "the Guy". Approximately children even keep up an old tradition of walking in the streets, carrying "the Guy" they have just made, and beg for "a penny for the Guy." The kids use the money to buy fireworks for the evening festivities.

On the night itself, Guy is placed on top of the bonfire, which is then set alight; and fireworks displays fill the sky.

This is the traditional type of night, as most people will be familiar with the basic fireworks that you can buy from wood burning ovens, Crawley whilst playing with neon bracelets and sparklers whilst drinking a hot chocolate.

However, if you live in Sussex then the famous Lewes Bonfire Night might tickle your fancy; in
Lewes this event not only marks the date of the uncovering of the Gunpowder Plot in 1605, but also commemorates the memory of the seventeen Protestant martyrs.

The current celebrations take the form of a series of torchlit processions through the town. The event is organised by the local bonfire societies, under the backings of the Lewes Bonfire Council.

Fireworks: “Remember Remember the 5th of November”

When you’re considering wood burning ovens in Crawley, you might want to consider buy fireworks as the 5th of November is fast approaching…

History of Fireworks

The earliest documentation of fireworks dates back to 7th century China, where they were invented. These were heated over a fire and dried to give a black flaky powder which burned with a loud bang when ignited. This crude, early mixture has come to be known in our modern world today as gun powder.

Crawley Wood Burning OvensThe Chinese named this fascinating black powder "huo yao" ("Fire Chemical") and developed it further. The mixture was inserted into the hollow of a bamboo stick and when thrown into a fire, the gases produced by the ignited burning powder inside caused a massive build-up of pressure and blasted the tube apart. The basic fire cracker was born. Thereafter, fire crackers played an essential part to Chinese festivities -weddings, religious rituals -nay cause for celebration heard their bang due to the belief that they were thought to be influential enough to scare off wicked spirits.

The fireworks were used to accompany many festivities. It is a part of the culture of China and had its origin there; eventually it spread to other cultures and societies. The art and science of firework making has developed into an independent profession. In China, pyro technicians were respected for their knowledge of complex techniques in mounting firework displays.

Safety When You Buy Your Fireworks

Fireworks can be great fun. Unfortunately, every year, people get hurt because they fool around with fireworks. Last year over 900 people required hospital treatment from accidents involving fireworks, luckily in Wood Burning Stoves Crawley they will tell you the safety protections on sight.

Get the Perfect Brows at Salons in Crawley

Salons in Crawley for Beautiful Eyebrows

Well shaped and plucked eyebrows bring out your eyes and open your whole face up – you could say that good eyebrows are almost like a non-surgical (and much cheaper) facelift.

Despite this, many women don’t know how to achieve the perfect brow shape, so we’ve put together a list of tips to help you get perfect brows.

Don’t Over Pluck!

It’s easy to get carried away with plucking your eyebrows, we’ve all been there! But when you over pluck your eyebrows it leaves them looking thin and really doesn’t do much for your face. If you regularly over pluck your eyebrows there’s a chance that they will eventually stop growing back too, so easy on the tweezers!

Avoid “The Unibrow”

Big bushy eyebrows can be beautiful and have been seen on the catwalk with the likes of Cara Delevigne sporting thick dark eyebrows, but make sure you pay attention to the middle section above the bridge of your nose - no one wants “The Unibrow” look.

Invest in an Eyebrow Pencil

crawley salons

An eyebrow pencil is great for filling in any little gaps from the dreaded over plucking and can give you the option to improve or change the shape of your brows to frame your face better.

Use Good Quality Slanted Tweezers

The best kind of tweezers have slanted edges to give more definition when plucking and make tweezing far quicker, less painful, and more precise. Make sure your tweezers are strong and sturdy in order to get at any thin stray hairs that may be difficult to pluck with cheap or flimsy tweezers.

Try Eyebrow Threading

Unlike plucking which removes one hair at a time, threading uses a line of cotton or polyester string to remove a whole line of hairs at once giving a much more defined look.Threading can be done at many beauty or hair salons in Crawley and is even available at many large stores too such as Superdrug.

Try “HD Brows”

HD Brows is a unique new way of achieving perfect high definition eyebrows and involves a revolutionary 7 step brow-shaping treatment available at salons in Crawley and in other local salons. The treatment involves a combination of techniques including tinting, waxing and threading, all using specialist HD Brow products. You can choose the shape and colour of your new perfect brows and just lay back while a skilled beautician works her magic.

Dry Flaky Skin

Facials are a great way to combat dry skin and come in many types depending on what you hope to gain from them. Use cream based facials such as mud or clay for a real moisturising treat.

Many salons in Crawley such as Posh Nails and Beauty provide top quality professional facials including Dermatalogica branded products so you know you’re in knowledgeable hands.

Another way to combat dry skin is medical microdermabrasion, a procedure that involves deep exfoliating with a machine to buff away the top layer of dead skin cells that contribute to the flakiness of dry skin.
Microdermabrasion is available at select salons in crawley such as Salon 59, who provide professional and experienced treatments for deep exfoliation of dry flaky skin.

Permanent Blemishes

The best way to remove these unwanted marks is laser treatment which involves a high powered laser light beam tuned to special frequencies in order to destroy skin tissue in precise areas such as faces or necks. The laser beam is so powerful it can even cut through steel but is perfectly safe and patients report the process to be almost painless and much like the “pinging” sensation of an elastic band.

Unwanted Wrinkles

Botox is the number one form of non-surgical wrinkle reduction and works by injecting a filler or chemical called botulinum toxin into the muscles to paralyse them and stop them moving and causing the wrinkles. Botox can be a good preventative measure for wrinkles too and many women start getting treatments as young as thirty.

So whatever your skin type or problem there is a treatment out there for you. Beauty salons in Crawley are some of the most friendly and professional and can answer any questions you may have about your cosmetic procedures and what you can do to improve your skin and your confidence.
