Decisions Decisions – Take The Family Out or a Nice Night In

Arrangements for Bonfire Night celebrations include making a imitation of Guy Fawkes, which is called "the Guy". Approximately children even keep up an old tradition of walking in the streets, carrying "the Guy" they have just made, and beg for "a penny for the Guy." The kids use the money to buy fireworks for the evening festivities.

On the night itself, Guy is placed on top of the bonfire, which is then set alight; and fireworks displays fill the sky.

This is the traditional type of night, as most people will be familiar with the basic fireworks that you can buy from wood burning ovens, Crawley whilst playing with neon bracelets and sparklers whilst drinking a hot chocolate.

Events for Bonfire Night around Sussex and London

There are multiple events being held in London on the 5th of November but there can be few better places to watch the London Fireworks than from the River Thames itself, and we are offering you the opportunity of doing just that from the comfort of a boat in the middle of the river where we will moor in prime position for you to experience the wonderful Battersea Park fireworks display that could be bought from wood burning stoves, Crawley.

However, if you live in Sussex then the famous Lewes Bonfire Night might tickle your fancy; in
Lewes this event not only marks the date of the uncovering of the Gunpowder Plot in 1605, but also commemorates the memory of the seventeen Protestant martyrs.

The current celebrations take the form of a series of torchlit processions through the town. The event is organised by the local bonfire societies, under the backings of the Lewes Bonfire Council.
